The Eagles are to play Nashville, Tennessee’s legendary Grand Ole Opry venue for the first time ever.
The “Hotel California” rockers will perform at the iconic concert auditorium, home to America’s most famous country music radio show, on Oct. 29.
Long-term Eagles members Don Henley, Joe Walsh and Timothy B. Schmit and new boys Vince Gill and Deacon Frey, who has replaced his late father Glenn, will all play together at the invitation-only gig.
Formed in 1971, the Eagles brand of soft rock made them one of the most popular groups of the 1970s, with hits like “Take It Easy,” “Desperado,” and “Tequila Sunrise.”
They split in 1980 but reformed in 1994. Glenn’s death in January last year initially seemed to spell the permanent end for the group, but they reunited with their new line-up earlier this year and have been touring the U.S.
