Who IS Dumas Walker?

In 1990, the Kentucky Headhunters had a song out called “Dumas Walker.”  The music video was always being aired on CMT, so people always wanted to know more about the legend of Dumas Walker or if there was really a man named Dumas Walker. 
Yes, there is or was a Dumas Walker.  Dumas Walker, was 74 years old when he was in the Kentucky Headhunters music video.  He owned Walker’s Package Store on TN 51, just a bit south of the Kentucky/Tennessee State Line in Moss, Tennessee.

Dumas Walker and Welby Lee of Tompkinsville were champion Marble players.   He was well known in Kentucky and Tennessee for his marble playing skills.  Dumas can be seen in the Kentucky Headhunters music video playing marbles on a pool table.
On his way to a marble game in Bowling Green, ky, Dumas broke his arm in a car accident.  Because of the injury, Dumas was unable to shoot marbles afterwards.  Dumas Walker passed away on April 22, 1991 in Nashville, Tennessee.  He is buried in the Macedonia Cemetery in Moss, Tennessee.
