CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The cheerleading team at Austin Peay State University has been suspended until further notice, according to a statement from APSU.

“Austin Peay State University is suspending the operations of its cheerleading team until further notice,” said the statement. “Austin Peay personnel received information alleging potential violations of university policies. While the university investigates the allegations, the cheerleading team and staff will not be permitted to represent the university or athletics department at future events.”

The team did not accompany the men’s basketball team for its game Wednesday at Central Arkansas, according to The Tennessean.

Clarksville Now has reached out to the university, but officials have declined further comment.
