CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Firefighters are responding to a massive house fire on Tylertown Road, just outside the city limits.

At about 3:42 p.m., Clarksville Fire Rescue was called to the fire at 480 Tylertown Road. The one-story home, an out building and three vehicles on the property were all fully engulfed, according to Assistant Fire Chief Michael Rios.

Because the property is outside the city limits, there are no fire hydrants in the vicinity, and firefighters have deployed four water tanker trucks, Rios told Clarksville Now.

There are close to 50 firefighters on the scene, in a joint effort between CFR and Montgomery County Fire Service volunteers. Ten city units are on the scene, with six county units.

The homeowners were out of town at the time, and no injuries have been reported, Rios said. The cause has not yet been determined.

Firefighters are working through the heat, with the temperature at 96 degrees and a heat index of 105. They are keeping firefighters hydrated and swapping them out as they can, Rios said.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area, as traffic will remain congested at the intersection of Tylertown and Oakland for a while.
