UPDATE: Highway 76 back open after closure due to fallen tree

Update, 4 p.m.: Highway 76 is back open, according to CPD.

Update, 3:15 p.m.: On the other side of the county, a dump truck has overturned on Highway 48 at Batson Lane, tying up traffic.

Previously:

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Clarksville Police Department announced due to a fallen tree, one lane of Highway 76 on Neptune Drive has been shut down temporarily.

CPD responded to a 911 call regarding the tree and upon arrival, officers began conducting traffic control, allowing motorists to alternate the use of the one open lane, according to CPD spokesperson Scott Beaubien.

TDOT has been to the scene and is getting the necessary equipment to clear the roadway. CPD asks motorists to find an alternate route until the roadway can be cleared. This article will be updated.
